Accommodation Terms & Conditions

All bookings at the Retreat Centre and Avalon House are subject to the following Terms and Conditions.

Check-in

Standard check-in time is from 1pm. We cannot guarantee that you will have access to your room if you arrive before this time. If the live-in caretaker will not be on-site at your advised arrival time, you will be notified of the key safe code prior to your arrival. We ask that you arrive before 9pm, if possible.

Check-out

Standard check-out time is 10am. We ask that guests strip their bed prior to check-out.

Cancellation policy

Short stays (6 nights or less)

Up to 7 days prior to your scheduled check-in time: a cancellation fee of 20% of the total value of the booking will apply.

Within 7 days but up to 48 hours of your scheduled check-in time: a cancellation fee of 50% of the total value of the booking will apply.

Within 48 hours of your scheduled check-in time: a 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Long stays (7 nights or more)

Up to 7 days prior to your scheduled check-in time: a cancellation fee equal to 20% of the cost of 7 nights at full fee will apply.

Within 7 days but up to 48 hours of your scheduled check-in time: a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the cost of 7 nights at full fee will apply.

Within 48 hours of your scheduled check-in time: a cancellation fee equal to 100% of the cost of 7 nights at full fee will apply.

When cancellations are made in the case of extreme circumstances, alternate refunds may be considered at the discretion of Shanti Mission management. This does not include a change of mind or change to travel plans.

Shanti Mission will offer a full refund of accommodation costs in the event that Shanti Mission cancels or reschedules an advertised event that you are registered for at the Abode of Peace or Retreat Centre. Refunds will be considered at the discretion of Shanti Mission management for events that finish before the advertised conclusion time.

Refunds may take up to seven days to be processed.

No-Shows or Early Terminations

If you fail to show up for your booking or you terminate your booking early after you have checked in, a 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Booking Credit

We offer booking credit when your booking is cancelled up to 72 hours of your scheduled check-in time. In this instance a cancellation fee will not be incurred.

Booking credits must be redeemed within two months of the booking cancellation.

Cancellation of bookings made using booking credit will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Unavailability

If your booked accommodation becomes unavailable for your occupancy due to unforeseen circumstances (eg. fire, storm, damage, etc) then Shanti Mission Management will inform you immediately and relocate you to the unaffected accommodation, if possible. In the event that we are unable to accommodate you, all monies paid will be refunded.

Special Requests

Whilst we attempt to satisfy all special requests, Shanti Mission does not guarantee that special requests can be accommodated.

Children

As many of our guests are looking for spiritual and meditative experiences, we are unable to accommodate children under 16 years of age.

Noise

We invite quiet within and around the accommodation between 10pm and 7am for the enjoyment of all guests.

Meat, Drug & Alcohol Policy

We kindly request that guests honour and respect the energy of the Ashram and its associated locations and abstain from consuming the following products: meat (beef, lamb, pork and poultry), fish and seafood products (including tinned products), cigarettes, drugs and alcohol.

Pet Policy

Pets are not permitted within or surrounding our accommodations.

Lost Property

Lost property will be held for a period of one month. Any items left behind by guests can be returned at the guest’s own cost.

Damages

You are responsible for damages or breakages that occur during your stay. Management may recover from you repair or replacement cost (at Management’s discretion).

Eviction of Guests

Shanti Mission reserves the right to evict a guest from the premises for any behaviour that poses a threat to the safety of staff or other guests, or that involves wilful damage to property.
